A busy day in Bury...
July 3rd, 2022
A mammoth 75 riders from the 6 Northern clubs turned out for the 4th round of the Northern 4's and individual GP series.
First up were the under-10 and under 13 riders, where 32 riders took part, including 5 from Heckmondwike (Elliott, George, Joseph, James and Charlie). James won 3 races as he rose up through the divisions in the "ladder" format ,and most of the others won at least one race. Joseph had his best match to date, finishing 3rd in the U10 category, with James 6th and Charlie 8th. George was 5th in the U13 category and Elliott was 7th.
The next event was the Senior Fours, where Heckmondwike's squad of Div 2 riders was pitted against the might of predominantly Div 1 riders from the other clubs. With a win and 3 seconds, Darren scored nearly half of Heckmondwike's total, and Daniel scored some useful points, but Pat (blessed with an unfavourable draw), Justin and Tony (reserve) didn't have much joy.
Overall score : Astley & Tyldesley 54 Bury 50 Stockport 41 Sheffield 40 Heckmondwike 28 Hull 26(Standings after 4 rounds : A&T 21, Stockport 18, Bury 16, Sheffield 14, Hull 9, Heckmondwike 6)
